In February, Augusta’s head coach Dip Metress secured his 600th career victory, guiding the Jaguars to an 82‑60 triumph over Clayton State. The win not only marked a personal milestone but also reinforced the program’s steady ascent under his stewardship.
Metress, now entering his 23rd season with the university, began his coaching journey at Belmont Abbey before making the move to Augusta prior to the 2004‑05 campaign. Over two decades, he has compiled a career record of 601‑280, a testament to his consistency and adaptability.
