A new chapter for a standout guard
DJ Reynolds, the 6‑foot‑3 guard who helped Lynn Classical finish the regular season at 17‑3 and reach the Division 3 Final Four, is set to join Bridgewater State University’s Bears for the upcoming winter campaign. His transition marks the next step in a basketball journey that began on the courts of Lynn and will now unfold in the competitive arena of Massachusetts college basketball.
During his senior year Reynolds played both the three position and point guard roles, a versatility that caught the eye of Coach Marvin Avery, who challenged him to guard different positions and players to sharpen his defensive skills. Avery’s guidance, along with the support of teammates, pushed Reynolds to refine his ballhandling and jump shot in preparation for the faster pace of college play.
Offseason work and summer highlights
Reynolds spent the summer traveling across the North Shore for tournaments and showcases, including a memorable performance in the Taft Rising Stars Challenge where he sank a game‑winning basket. Those experiences not only tested his skills against top competition but also reinforced his commitment to continuous improvement.
He credits his teammates and Coach Avery for creating an environment that demanded extra work, a factor he says was essential in shaping his preparation for the collegiate level.

Beyond the hardwood, Reynolds has chosen to major in cybersecurity at Bridgewater State, citing the university’s strong academic reputation as a key factor in his decision.
