Donald Tabron II, the highly touted quarterback from Cass Technical High School in Detroit, announced his commitment to Texas A&M on Wednesday, choosing the Aggies over a final slate that included LSU and Oregon.
Ranked fourth among Michigan prospects and 49th nationally by 247Sports, Tabron brings a blend of arm strength and poise that has already translated into on‑field success. As a freshman he propelled Cass Tech to a Division I state title, throwing for more than 1,600 yards and 17 touchdowns.
His sophomore campaign was even more impressive, finishing 13‑1 as a starter, amassing 2,819 passing yards and 35 touchdowns while guiding the team to a second straight state final appearance. The performance earned him a 23‑1 record as a starter through two seasons and a slew of scholarship offers from programs such as Colorado, Auburn, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan and Indiana.
A Multi‑Sport Prospect
Beyond the gridiron, Tabron is a regional champion in track and a qualifier for the golf team, underscoring a rare multi‑sport talent. He is slated to open the 2026 season on August 28 against Michigan City before facing Grandville, Southeastern and other traditional rivals.
His invitation to the Under Armour All‑American Game in May 2025 further cements his status among the nation’s elite seniors, while his academic interests and community involvement signal a well‑rounded future Aggie.
