A Journey Across Continents
Dora Panteli’s story begins on the courts of Greece, where she first picked up a basketball at age 13. By 14 she was already a fixture on the Greek national team, and at 18 she earned a full Division I scholarship to Binghamton University, becoming the first Greek female student‑athlete to receive such an award.
At Binghamton she majored in English while minoring in theatre, politics, and law, a combination that honed her storytelling and communication skills. As team captain in her senior year, she led the Bearcats for three seasons and later turned her theatrical training into a distinctive voice for sports broadcasting.
Breaking Barriers in Broadcasting
After graduating, Panteli pursued a master’s in clinical psychology and worked as a counselor before being invited to commentate as a guest analyst. Her natural poise and deep knowledge quickly earned her a permanent role with NOVASPORTS Channels, where she now covers the EuroLeague, FIBA Europe, the NBA Summer League and other marquee events.
In 2019 she made history as the first Greek woman and only the fourth European female to call a EuroLeague game, and in 2023 she became the first Greek female to commentate a FIBA Basketball World Cup match, cementing her status as a trailblazer in a male‑dominated field.
From Media Production to Global Ambassadorship
Panteli founded Panda Media, a production company that creates original sports‑focused content, and completed Harvard Business School’s executive program in entertainment, media and sports. She now serves as an ambassador and creative director for several international brands, while also hosting a late‑night YouTube vidcast that blends interview and analysis.
Beyond the screen, she balances her career with family life, having welcomed a son in July 2025, and she aspires to shape basketball administration, using her 360‑degree understanding of the game to promote women’s leadership in sports governance.
