The 2026 All-News-Herald Girls Soccer First Team celebrates a cohort of young talent from the Downriver region, highlighting record‑breaking goal totals, defensive mastery and clutch performances that propelled several programs to unprecedented heights.
Leading the charge, Miley Skamiera of New Boston Huron topped the scoring charts with 45 goals, a tally that helped the Chiefs secure their second straight state‑semifinal berth. Joining her, Harper Barnhart of Brownstown Woodhaven contributed 42 goals and more than two dozen assists, steering the Warriors to their first district championship in three seasons.
Midfield dynamo Jenna Bashore from Allen Park Inter‑City Baptist, a perennial all‑state selection, paired with Amaya Provenzano to form a potent creative duo, each surpassing 40 points for the season. Their influence was echoed by Alyssa Korte of Grosse Ile, whose 15‑point campaign helped the Red Devils capture a 14‑game district streak.
Defensive anchors such as Nhi Vo of New Boston Huron limited opponents to one goal or fewer in 17 of 22 outings, while Madison Noe of Wyandotte Roosevelt logged over 200 saves and five shutouts despite a late‑season injury. Monica Steinmetz of Gibraltar Carlson added 10 clean sheets, underpinning the Marauders’ first-ever Downriver League title.
Other notable contributors include Paytin Hawes of Allen Park Cabrini, who finished with a team‑leading 33 goals and committed to Cleary University, and Kailin Godlewski of Trenton, a freshman phenom with 32 goals and double‑digit assists who earned all‑state honorable‑mention honors in Division 2.
The season also saw standout performances from players like Olivia Dawson, Addison Wallace and Madison Reamer, whose versatility across sports and clutch scoring added depth to their squads. Together, these athletes have reshaped the competitive landscape of Downriver girls soccer, setting new standards for excellence on and off the field.
