Drinks by the Dram has introduced Drambuteo, a novel whisky tasting set that fuses 12 miniature drams with a tabletop soccer game inspired by the iconic Subbuteo. The product, launched in three distinct editions, is priced at £69.95, which converts to roughly $88, and arrives ready for immediate play.
A Spirited Take on a Classic
Each box contains two teams of six drams, colour‑coded holders, a miniature pitch and a ball. Players first sample the whiskies, set aside the empty drams and then deploy them as players on the field. The objective is simple: be the first to net five goals and claim victory.
Three Editions, One Price
The England versus Scotland edition pits six English whiskies against a curated selection of Scottish single malts, while the Scotland versus Rest of World edition fields six Scottish drams against international competitors from France, Germany, Mexico, Spain, the United States and Canada. An England versus Rest of World version mirrors the latter matchup but showcases English whiskies on the opposing side.
How the Game Unfolds
Once the drams are emptied, they become the game pieces that move across the pitch. The tactile experience of handling the glass vessels adds a sensory layer to each pass, shot and block. Scoring five goals ends the match, and the winner can celebrate with the remaining whisky or move on to the next round.
Collecting Beyond the Match
Enthusiasts who wish to extend their play can purchase individual drams, additional tasting sets or limited‑edition releases that are bundled within the brand’s advent calendars. This modular approach ensures that the game can evolve alongside a collector’s palate.
Behind the Brand
Drambuteo is brought to market by Drinks by the Dram, a venture that forms part of Atom Brands. Atom also operates Master of Malt, the online retailer that supplies the sets directly to consumers. The company first gained attention for its whisky advent calendar and has since expanded its repertoire across multiple spirits categories.
