A New Era for Tigers Basketball
Drew Gladstone, a former associate head coach at Northern Illinois University and longtime assistant at St. Luke's School, was announced this week as the new head coach of Greenwich Country Day's boys basketball team for the 2026‑27 season.
Gladstone arrives with a proven track record, having compiled a 64‑12 record over his recent tenure and captured two Fairchester League championships as well as two New England titles while guiding his previous squads to sustained success.
The Tigers, members of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council, finished the 2025‑26 campaign winless and unranked, a stark contrast to the program's recent history that includes alumni such as NBA star Donovan Mitchell, who recently pledged $12 million to support the school's athletic facilities.
In addition to his coaching accomplishments, Gladstone brings experience working within Indiana University's basketball program, where he helped develop talent and refine scouting strategies, positioning him to elevate the Tigers' roster and culture.
School officials say the hire reflects a desire to blend tradition with ambition, aiming to rebuild a program that can contend for league titles and make deep runs in the NEPSAC playoffs.
