A Promising Addition
Eastern Kentucky University announced the signing of Duje Dujmovic, a 6‑foot‑9 combo forward from Germany, adding a new dimension to the Colonels' roster. The program's coaching staff believes his blend of height, skill and experience will complement the existing lineup and bolster competitiveness in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Dujmovic arrives after a season in the German ProB League where he averaged 10.0 points and 5.1 rebounds for the Rhoendorf Dragons. He shot 53% from the field and 34% from three‑point range, demonstrating efficiency on both ends of the floor. His size and versatility allow him to play multiple positions, giving the Colonels flexibility in matchup planning.
Head Coach A.W. Hamilton expressed enthusiasm about the new addition, highlighting Dujmovic's physical presence and work ethic. "We’re excited to bring a player of Duje’s caliber to EKU," Hamilton said. "His experience abroad, combined with his skill set, should make an immediate impact on our team."
A Look Back
Before his ProB stint, Dujmovic played for TSV Neustadt in the 2024‑25 season, posting 10.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Earlier, he spent two years with RheinStars Cologne from 2022 to 2024, further refining his game in the German basketball system.
The German native, born in Duesseldorf, brings an international background that could enrich the cultural fabric of the program. His season‑best performances include a 20‑point outing against Vechta 2 on March 14 and a 12‑rebound effort against Rostock Academy on November 8.
With his collegiate debut still ahead, Dujmovic is expected to integrate quickly into the Colonels' system. The coaching staff anticipates that his defensive awareness and rebounding prowess will address key areas of focus for the team, aiming to elevate overall performance in the upcoming season.
