Duke University’s men’s basketball program is already turning its gaze toward the Class of 2028, identifying a handful of elite prospects who could shape the next generation of Blue Devils.
At the center of that early focus is Yann Kamagate, a 7‑foot center who grew up in Burkina Faso and has quickly risen to the top of national rankings among high school big men.
Coaches have already extended scholarship offers to Kamagate, joining a list of suitors that includes Kansas and North Carolina, signaling the intensity of the competition for his services.
A New Era of Talent Acquisition
In the 2027 cycle, Duke has also entered the picture for point guard Beckham Black, a top‑ranked prospect who sits at No. 4 overall and No. 1 among point guards, as well as power forward Kager Knueppel, currently positioned No. 80 overall and No. 10 among his peers.
The Blue Devils are also preparing to welcome what scouts label the nation’s most talented 2026 cohort, a group that features three five‑star recruits and promises to reinforce the program’s depth across the board.
