A Milestone Matchup
The Blue Devils will kick off their campaign on December 4 when they welcome Harvard to Cameron Indoor Stadium, marking the first meeting of the Brotherhood Run series this season.
Adding historic weight to the occasion, Tommy Amaker, a four‑year starter under Coach K and a 2001 inductee into the Duke Athletics Hall of Fame, is slated to return to the venue that shaped his collegiate career.
Amaker’s presence underscores the program’s deep ties to its past, while head coach Jon Scheyer prepares for his fifth year at the helm, a tenure that has already delivered a 35‑3 record and an ACC regular‑season championship.
A Rigorous Non‑Conference slate
Beyond the Harvard opener, Duke’s preseason schedule features contests against Kansas, Tennessee and Belmont, while the broader non‑conference slate includes matchups with UConn, Washington State, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Florida, Texas Tech and Gonzaga.
The ambitious lineup reflects the Blue Devils’ intent to test themselves early, a strategy that culminated in a 35‑3 finish to the 2025‑26 season, capturing both the ACC regular‑season and tournament titles.
That remarkable campaign also produced the program’s 26th Elite Eight appearance, though the run ended in heartbreaking fashion when UConn edged Duke in the final seconds of the championship game.
As the new season approaches, the blend of seasoned leadership, historic alumni involvement and a demanding schedule sets the stage for another compelling chapter in Duke basketball.
