A Strategic Addition for the Sooners
Duke Brennan, a fifth‑year transfer who spent the last three seasons at Villanova, has officially signed with the University of Oklahoma for the 2026‑27 campaign, adding a seasoned big man to the Sooners' lineup.
During his tenure at Villanova, Brennan posted career‑high averages of 12.4 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting an efficient 65.8 % from the field, earning Third Team All‑BIG EAST honors and ranking eleventh nationally in rebounding.
His dominance on the glass was underscored by 14 double‑double performances and a league‑leading 132 offensive rebounds, marking him as the first Villanova player since 1985 to pull down ten or more boards per game.
Brennan’s arrival coincides with the return of All‑American guard Xzayvier Brown and the addition of preseason All‑SEC candidate Derrion Reid, creating a frontcourt that blends size, skill and leadership.
Coach Kyle Kelley highlighted the transfer’s competitive spirit and work ethic, noting that Brennan’s experience from four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances will help sustain the program’s recent culture of success.
The Sooners, who have secured two top‑10 fifth‑year transfers according to On3 rankings, join B.J. Edwards as the latest high‑profile additions, positioning Oklahoma as an early contender in the upcoming season.
