Duke University’s women’s basketball program has released its 2026‑27 non‑conference schedule, a 11‑game lineup that pits the Blue Devils against some of the nation’s most accomplished teams. The announcement, made by head coach Kara Lawson, underscores the team’s ambition to test itself early and build momentum heading into ACC play.
A demanding non‑conference slate
The schedule opens with four home contests at Cameron Indoor Stadium before the ACC season begins, highlighted by the SEC/ACC Challenge against South Carolina on December 3. Early November games include a matchup against Wisconsin Green Bay on November 3, followed by a road test at the American Airlines Center against North Texas on November 8.
Duke will then travel to Boston for a November 28 contest against UConn, marking the 18th meeting between the two programs. The following month, the Blue Devils head to Phoenix to meet UCLA in a rematch and participate in the Players Era Women's Championship in Las Vegas, a tournament that will also feature other elite teams.
The non‑conference slate also includes games against Columbia in New York City, as well as a series of home stand victories over Norfolk State, Marshall and Fordham in mid‑November. These early contests provide a blend of competitive balance and opportunities for the team to fine‑tune its rhythm.
Returning from last season are three starters and nine additional players, among them sophomore transfer Aaliyah Crump and a quartet of freshmen. The depth and experience added by these athletes give Coach Lawson a versatile roster capable of adapting to the varied styles of the opponents on the schedule.
Beyond the non‑conference games, the ACC schedule features nine home games and ten road contests, culminating in the 2027 Ally ACC Women's Basketball Tournament in Charlotte, North Carolina, slated for March 3‑7.
