Duquesne's men's basketball program is gearing up for what promises to be an eventful third season under Coach Dru Joyce III, who has announced a series of staffing adjustments ahead of the upcoming campaign.
A Strategic Overhaul for the Dukes
The program will welcome Derrick Allen, a veteran mentor with extensive experience in both international leagues and the NBA G League, as its newest assistant coach.
Alongside Allen, Darik Artis rises to the dual role of assistant coach and director of player development, a promotion that reflects his longtime service as Joyce's director of basketball operations.
Departures and New Directions
The reshuffle also sees the departure of former assistants Jordan Talley and Julian Sullinger, who have moved on from the program.
Allen's coaching résumé includes stints with professional clubs in Germany, Mexico and Spain, bringing a global perspective to the Dukes' tactical approach.
Artis, who previously contributed at UC Davis and Cleveland State before joining Duquesne, will now oversee player development while continuing his operational duties.
