Dusan Vicentic, a Belgrade-born forward with a reputation for versatile scoring and rebounding, has taken on a new responsibility as a full‑time assistant coach for the Wichita Shockers men’s basketball program, effective August 2026.
A Modern Voice in the Paint
After five seasons navigating the competitive circuits of Greece, Slovakia and Japan, Vicentic brings a global perspective to the hardwood, having averaged 17.6 points and 11.7 rebounds during his most recent stint with BC Anagennisi Arkalochori.
His journey began in the collegiate ranks at West Virginia Wesleyan University, where he capped a standout senior season with Mountain East Conference First Team honors and a degree in economics and business administration.
Transitioning from a graduate assistant role in 2025, Vicentic now oversees player development and scouting, a shift that head coach Paul Mills describes as a “modern approach” that injects high energy and innovative tactics into the squad.
Mills highlighted Vicentic’s dedication to elevating team performance, noting that the coach’s blend of analytical insight and on‑court experience positions the Shockers for a competitive edge in the upcoming season.
The hiring underscores a broader trend of programs seeking versatile, internationally seasoned assistants who can bridge player development with strategic innovation, a move that could reshape the Shockers’ tactical identity.
