Nebraska shortstop Dylan Carey has been selected to the 2026 All‑America team by the College Baseball Foundation, earning the honor for the second time in his collegiate career.
The recognition adds to a season that has already delivered multiple awards, including the Brooks Wallace Award and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.
A season of milestones
Carey batted .353 while driving in 65 runs, scoring 53 times, and compiling 16 doubles, 15 home runs and two triples. His .981 fielding percentage came with just four errors in 216 chances, and he turned 29 double plays, underscoring his all‑around impact.
The shortstop also became the program’s all‑time leader in career doubles and joins an elite group of nine Huskers who have reached 200 hits, 150 runs and 150 RBIs.
Celebration to come
Carey and the rest of the honorees will be celebrated at the 2027 Night of Champions, presented by Prairiefire, on February 11, 2027 in Overland Park, Kansas. The event will also spotlight UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky, the other shortstop named to the All‑America team.
Selection to the team is determined by members of the CBF award committees, who evaluate performance across the nation.
Beyond the field, Carey’s leadership has helped raise the profile of Nebraska baseball and set a standard for future players.
