Dystany Spurlock, the trailblazing driver who became the first Black woman to compete in both NASCAR and the ARCA Menards Series, is set to take the wheel at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park for the upcoming 150-lap ARCA race, carrying the distinctive logo of the "She Pivots" podcast.
The logo belongs to the "She Pivots" podcast, a platform founded by Emily Tisch Sussman, who also co-owns the New York Giants and Gotham FC. Sussman will be on site, watching the car that bears her brand and cheering on Spurlock as she makes her ARCA debut.
A partnership that breaks new ground
Spurlock’s journey to this moment began in motorcycle drag racing, where she captured the 2024 DME Racing Real Street class title and later stepped into the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle ranks, becoming only the second Black woman to compete in that series. Her resume also includes a top-15 finish in six ARCA events this season and a historic 36th-place result in a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Dover.
The race will be broadcast live at 5 p.m. ET on FS1, giving viewers a chance to see the "She Pivots" branding in action and to follow Spurlock’s progress as she continues to reshape the face of motorsports.
Beyond the track, the collaboration highlights a broader push for diversity in racing, amplified by documentary producer Crystal McCrary, who is overseeing a forthcoming docuseries chronicling Spurlock’s career. With sponsors ranging from Toyota to MBM Motorsports and support from teams such as Joe Gibbs Racing, the event promises to be a milestone for both the sport and its growing fan base.
