EA Sports College Football 27: Early Ratings Reveal Big Ten Powerhouses

Penn State climbs to 26th as Oregon, Ohio State and Indiana lead the pack

EA Sports is preparing to launch its first college football video game in more than ten years, promising a fresh simulation of the sport’s most storied rivalries.

Rating breakdown reveals Big Ten supremacy

The latest preview of the game’s team ratings places the Penn State Nittany Lions at an overall score of 83, which translates to a 26th‑overall ranking among the 130 Football Bowl Subdivision programs.

Inside that figure, Penn State’s offense is rated at 86 while its defense checks in at 81, indicating a balanced but not dominant unit on both sides of the ball.

The Big Ten continues to dominate the upper tier of the rankings, with Oregon leading the pack at 91, followed closely by Ohio State and Indiana, each holding a 90 overall rating.

Beaver Stadium, Penn State’s iconic home venue, is listed as the third‑toughest place to play in the game, reflecting the intimidating atmosphere that can swing momentum in favor of the home team.

Fans will be able to experience the title on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, as well as on PC, but the game will not be released for Nintendo Switch or the upcoming Switch 2, limiting its availability on Nintendo’s platforms.
