EA Sports is set to launch College Football 27 on July 9, marking the 24th edition of the franchise and priced at $69.99 for the standard edition.
A New Era for Virtual College Football
The game’s cover will showcase a trio of rising stars — Kewan Lacy, Dante Moore and Malachi Toney — who headline the standard edition, while the ultimate and deluxe versions also feature additional players such as Colin Simmons, Leonard Moore, Jayden Maiava, Curt Cignetti, LeVar Woods and Cooper Worth.
Iowa enters the digital lineup with an overall rating of 80, placing the Hawkeyes 48th among all teams. Their defensive score sits at 78, while the offense is rated at 81, a modest decline from the 82 they held in the previous edition.
That position puts Iowa behind traditional Big Ten powerhouses like Oregon, Ohio State, Indiana, USC and Michigan, yet still ahead of several other conference rivals including Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh and Colorado.
Among the Hawkeyes’ top-rated athletes, Kade Pieper leads with a 95 overall score, followed by Trevor Lauck at 90 and DJ Vonnahme at 88. Notably, Pieper and Lauck are the only two returning starters from last season’s Joe Moore Award‑winning offensive line.
Former Iowa punter Rhys Dakin is assigned an 84 overall rating and occupies the No. 130 spot in the game’s player hierarchy.
Early preorder access will grant fans a first look at the new mechanics and roster updates, building anticipation for what developers hope will be the most immersive college football simulation to date.
