EA Sports has just released the official rankings for its upcoming title College Football 27, placing the Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 2 behind the Oregon Ducks, who hold the top spot.
The Buckeyes boast the nation's highest‑scoring offense and a defense ranked No. 7 overall, a combination that reflects both their recruiting strengths and the impact of recent player departures.
Coach Ryan Day acknowledges that the defensive side lost several key contributors to the NFL draft, but he remains confident that internal development and strategic additions from the transfer portal will bridge the gap.
The top ten also features Indiana, Notre Dame, Texas, Miami (FL), LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia and Oklahoma, underscoring the competitive landscape that EA Sports' rankings mirror.
College Football 27 is slated for launch on July 9 across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with early access beginning on July 2 for owners of the MVP Bundle and on July 6 for those who purchase the Deluxe Edition.
