The Eagle Lake 12U All-Star Team has etched its name into the record books, capturing the program’s first regional championship and securing a berth in the Cal Ripken Baseball Major/70 (12U) World Series in Branson, Missouri.
A historic first for Eagle Lake baseball
The path to the championship was defined by a series of hard‑fought victories, including a decisive win over Hendersonville, Tennessee, and a revenge triumph against Lutz in the regional semifinals, avenging an earlier loss.
Head coach Jake Wren will guide a squad that features standout players such as Cooper Lehning, Seth Cutrer, Josh Barfield, Jr., Paisley Wren, Aydin Britton, Landin Britton, Camerson Taylor, Chase Smith, Jayden Brooks and Jacob Hanson, with coaching support from Luke Lehning and Josh Barfield.
The team faces a $30,000 travel and competition budget, a target they have already begun to meet, having raised roughly $12,000 in just two weeks through a slate of community fundraisers.
Fundraising activities range from a yard sale and a family cookout to a 50/50 raffle, a back‑to‑school basket raffle, and sales of hot dogs, baked goods and snacks, providing multiple avenues for supporters to contribute.
Donations can be sent to the Eagle Lake Sports Association, P.O. Box 1126, Eagle Lake, Florida 33839, while the broader Babe Ruth League, which encompasses both Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth divisions, continues to nurture youth baseball across the nation.
