A rocky start to the season
The Eagles opened the 2026 campaign with a 2-0 loss to Georgia Southern, followed by another shutout, leaving the team without a point and searching for a spark on offense.
Leading the charge for the Eagles, defender Sarah Greiner has recorded six shots with three on goal, while midfielder Lexie Bennett contributes three total attempts, two of which are on target, offering a glimmer of attacking potential.
Southern University enters the matchup as the seventh seed in the SWAC preseason poll after a 3-12-1 record the previous year, aiming to snap a six-game non-conference skid that has seen them outscored 19-0.
