The Embry‑Riddle Eagles traveled to Prescott on Saturday morning to meet Westcliff University, only to see their campaign interrupted by a 2‑0 defeat.
Despite generating eight attempts, four of which tested the Warriors’ defense, the Eagles were unable to break through, with Westcliff’s goalkeeper Olly Scott making four key saves, including a stop on Nitai Bental’s 33rd‑minute effort.
Midfield depth was on display as Julian Albanil and Hugo Gil helped control possession, while the coaching staff rotated 17 players to maintain intensity throughout the match.
Both sides showed attacking intent, but it was Westcliff’s defensive organization that ultimately preserved the clean sheet, highlighting the narrow margins that defined the game.
The Eagles are scheduled to face Southern Oregon again on August 28th in Prescott, aiming to adjust their approach after the narrow loss.
