The East Hickman 12U All Star Baseball Team entered the state tournament with hopes of extending a season that had already defied expectations.

Their first contest was initially postponed because of inclement weather, only to resume with a 16‑3 loss to Ashland City that put the team on the back foot.
In their second game, the squad faced Sequoyah and fell 7‑6, ending their tournament run after a hard‑fought battle.
Coach Tyler Rafferty noted that, despite a midseason slump, the players managed to qualify for the state tournament and displayed the resilience that defined their campaign.
Coaches' Praise
Rafferty highlighted the squad's work ethic, passion and determination, while assistant coach Jason Moss added that the team's grit shone through both the district and state stages.
The roster, featuring players such as Jay Moss, Isiac Ceruantes, Laken Nunnally, Braxtynn Bales, Brandon Griggs, Gavin Ragsdale, Jessie Poth, Ryker Rockriver, Dawson Alderidge, Gannon Rafferty, Sawyer Pulley and Ayden Pooler, was singled out for its talent and willingness to improve.
Both coaches emphasized that the team never backed down, leaving the tournament with their heads held high.
