East Lycoming Little League Secures Third Straight District 12 Title

East Lycoming Little League clinched the District 12 junior baseball championship on Tuesday, downing South Williamsport 6‑0 in a game that showcased a blend of power hitting and tight defense.

The victory was anchored by Roman Meckbath, who tossed six‑plus innings, allowing just three hits, three walks and striking out seven batters. His command on the mound set the tone for the team.

East Lycoming struck first in the second inning, capitalizing on a single by Tygan Sherwood and a sacrifice fly from Liam Hill to put the first runs on the board.

The offense continued to roll, adding two more runs in the third when Kellyn Wool delivered a clutch RBI single, and extending the lead further with a fifth‑inning hit from Jameson Smith that brought in an insurance run. An additional tally arrived in the seventh courtesy of Brayden Swartz’s single.

South Williamsport threatened in the final frame, but a game‑ending double play sealed the win for East Lycoming. Manager Jim Wool praised the squad’s work ethic and dedication, noting that this championship marks the team’s third consecutive district title.

The Little League will now turn its attention to Section 3 play, opening the next round in Hughesville on July 7, where they will face new opponents in pursuit of a deeper playoff run.
