East Nashville Defensive Back Commits to Mississippi State

Ke'Vontae Pitts chooses the Bulldogs over several other programs after a standout 2025 season

A Commitment That Signals Rising Prospects

Ke'Vontae Pitts, a 6‑foot‑tall, 175‑pound junior defensive back from East Nashville, announced his commitment to Mississippi State on June 14 after an official visit to Starkville.

Coach Jeff Lebby’s staff offered Pitts on June 9, and the player said the Bulldogs’ vision for his development resonated with him.

Pitts chose Mississippi State over programs including Memphis, Arkansas State, East Carolina, Charlotte and Austin Peay, narrowing his list from a dozen total offers in the Football Bowl Subdivision and Championship Subdivision.

During the 2025 season, Pitts recorded four interceptions, amassed 60 tackles and contributed three punt returns for touchdowns, helping East Nashville reach the TSSAA Class 2A state quarterfinals.

The commitment underscores a growing pipeline of talent from Nashville to the SEC, and it positions the Bulldogs’ 2026 recruiting class among the most promising in the region.
