Eddie Cornblum Takes the Helm of Jesuit Dallas Baseball
Jesuit Dallas announced this week that Eddie Cornblum has been appointed head baseball coach, succeeding Brian Jones, who guided the Lancers to a 6A state championship in 2016. The school highlighted Cornblum’s reputation for cultivating a strong team culture and forging deep connections with his players.
Cornblum arrives after a distinguished ten‑year stint at Waco Midway, where he steered the team to a Class 6A Division I state title in 2025 and compiled a 232‑89 record. During that period he captured eight district championships, five of them consecutively from 2022 through 2026, underscoring his ability to sustain excellence.
‘Eddie’s track record of building culture and developing relationships is exactly what we need to keep our program competitive,’ said Kyle Herrema, Jesuit’s director of athletics, in a statement. Herrema noted that Cornblum’s philosophy aligns with the school’s tradition of producing top‑tier talent.
The Lancers have a storied history in the sport, having produced five consensus All‑Americans, including three Texas Gatorade Players of the Year, and six alumni who have signed professional contracts since 1997. Notably, Kyle Muller was crowned national player of the year in 2016, a benchmark for future generations.
With the new coaching leadership, Jesuit aims to extend its recent run of success, having reached the Class 6A Division II Region I final this season before falling to Flower Mound Marcus. The hiring signals a continued commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
