Eddie Faulkner, who once helped shape the Pittsburgh Steelers’ rushing attack, now channels that same energy into a different kind of gridiron lesson as a member of the Baltimore Ravens. This spring he returned to his roots, hosting the third annual Team Faulk Football Camp on the campus of Muncie Central High School.
The June 20 event gathered more than 200 youngsters, some traveling from as far as California, for a single, all‑ages session that differed from the multi‑day formats of previous years. The camp’s mission was clear: use the sport to give back to the community that raised him.
A roster of volunteers read like a who’s who of local football. Former Southside offensive lineman Brandon Gorin, a two‑time Super Bowl champion, praised Faulkner’s commitment, while current Muncie Central head coach Kyle Buresh spoke about the power of football to teach life lessons. Ball State alumni, including members of the 2008 undefeated Cardinals, joined the drills, and NFL veteran Jaylen Warren, a four‑year pro, returned for a second consecutive year.

Warren, who described Faulkner as “genuine and loving,” emphasized that the camp’s impact stretched beyond the field, shaping the next generation of players and citizens. The presence of former Steelers and Ravens teammates, alongside college standouts, underscored a shared belief that success is measured by how much one gives back.
Looking ahead, Faulkner plans to keep the camp’s momentum alive, hoping to expand its reach while maintaining the personal touch that has defined each edition. For the participants, the experience was more than drills; it was a chance to learn from mentors who have walked the same halls they now walk.
