Edgewood Eagles Celebrate Academic Excellence
The Edgewood University men's basketball program has once again been recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for its commitment to academic excellence, earning the prestigious Team Academic Excellence Award.
With a cumulative GPA of 3.42, the Eagles joined an elite group of collegiate programs that meet the association's rigorous standards, a distinction the team has now secured for eight straight seasons.
This year, seven standout players were named to the NABC Honors Court, a testament to their dedication both on the hardwood and in the classroom. The honorees — AC Strok, Connor Coombs, Hunter Hardyman, Isaiah Hubanks, Jonah Anderson, Kaleb Walter and Payton Bowser — exemplify the blend of athletic talent and scholarly focus that defines the program.
Athletics director Jane Miller praised the student‑athletes for their perseverance, noting that the accolade reflects the university's broader mission to foster well‑rounded leaders. 'Their success in the classroom is as important as any victory on the court,' she said.
