Edmonson County High School is set to transform its football field with a modern synthetic turf surface, a move designed to keep pace with the growing variety of athletic programs that now share the space.
Superintendent Brian Alexander explained that the school’s needs have evolved as soccer, football, and marching band activities increasingly overlap, making a natural grass surface inadequate for the wear and tear.
The school board’s backing of the project reflects a shared vision of creating a durable, attractive venue that serves students and the broader community alike.
Community pride drives the upgrade
The new surface is more than a functional upgrade; it symbolizes a commitment to excellence in education and athletics, reinforcing Edmonson County High School’s role as a hub for local engagement.
Construction is scheduled to wrap up by mid‑July, positioning the field for the upcoming fall season and ensuring it meets the performance standards expected by athletes and fans.
