Edwin Suarez Jr., a standout forward from Muhlenberg High School, is set to continue his college basketball journey at Temple University, where he will aim to cap off his eligibility with a final season in the Owls' program.
A Fresh Start in Philadelphia
After two seasons at Arizona Western College and a year at Weber State, Suarez arrives in Philadelphia with a reputation built on relentless rebounding and a growing perimeter game. The move comes after he helped the Wildcats secure a top‑10 ranking in several Big Sky statistical categories, including offensive rebounds and steals.
Rebounding and Defensive Presence
During his most recent campaign, Suarez averaged 9.2 points while pulling down six rebounds per game, and he contributed three double‑digit rebounding performances that placed him among the conference leaders. He also recorded 15 blocks and ranked in the top ten for both total and offensive rebounds, underscoring his role as a defensive anchor.
Offensive Development
Coaches have highlighted his work on three‑point shooting, a skill he hopes to sharpen to complement his inside presence. In two years at Arizona Western, he posted 11.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, earning NJCAA Division I All‑America Third Team honors as a sophomore.
Looking Ahead
Temple, which finished near the bottom of the American Athletic Conference in rebounding last season, sees in Suarez a potential catalyst for improvement. With the guidance of head coach Adam Fisher and longtime mentor Matt Flowers, the forward hopes to translate his collegiate experience into a stronger team performance and perhaps a deeper run in conference play.
