Egor Shilov Commits to Penn State Hockey

The Russian-born left‑handed center adds depth to the Nittany Lions’ roster after a standout rookie season in the QMJHL.

A left‑handed boost for the Nittany Lions

Egor Shilov, a 6‑foot‑3 left‑handed center, announced his commitment to Penn State’s men’s hockey program, turning down a prior pledge to Boston University.

Shilov comes off a rookie season with the Victoriaville Tigres of the QMJHL where he posted 32 goals and 50 assists for 82 points in 62 games, earning the league’s Rookie of the Year honor.

The Russian native, who also spent time in the USHL with the Green Bay Gamblers, posted a plus‑minus of –11 but impressed scouts with his playmaking and defensive reliability.

His addition brings depth to a Nittany Lions roster that has already welcomed fellow commits Charlie Michaud and Marco Mignosa this week, strengthening the team’s forward lines.

Hailing from Tyumen, Russia, Shilov joins a program that has been active in international recruiting, and his experience in both the QMJHL and USHL is expected to translate into immediate impact for Penn State.
