A New Era for Field Hockey Development
ELCO Evolution emerged in 2025 as the natural evolution of the former ELCO Youth Field Hockey program, shifting its emphasis toward long‑term sustainability and a richer player experience. The rebrand reflects a deliberate strategy to align the organization’s resources with the evolving needs of its community.
The program now offers a comprehensive calendar that spans fall, winter and spring series, complemented by instructional play days, seasonal camps and specialty events. These activities are designed for girls between the ages of four and twelve, providing a clear pathway for skill development at every stage.
At the helm is Kelsey Thorley, who serves as both head coach of ELCO High School and director of ELCO Evolution. Under her leadership, the program is supported by a dedicated cadre of volunteers who work to cultivate a positive, supportive environment where each participant feels valued.
Core to the ELCO Evolution philosophy are inclusion, hard work and personal growth. By embedding lessons on communication, decision‑making and self‑confidence into everyday practice, the program helps young women build discipline and teamwork that extend beyond the field.
Beyond regular season play, ELCO Evolution enriches its schedule with Sunday afternoon practices and occasional specialty clinics, ensuring that every player has access to additional opportunities for advancement. The organization’s success rests on its ability to listen to the community, adapt its offerings and continuously learn from each season’s outcomes.
