Elijah Cobb arrived at North Farmington before his junior year, leaving the halls of Cass Tech for a new challenge on the football field.
In his first year as a starter he quickly proved himself, earning all‑Oakland Activities Association honors after a season that saw him complete 52 of 95 passes for 1,000 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions, while also rushing 144 times for 721 yards and nine scores.
He was not limited to offense. Cobb added 23 tackles on defense and contributed two special‑teams scores, one on a kickoff return and another on a punt return, underscoring his all‑field presence.
A Rising Star in the Oakland League
Coach Jon Herstein has repeatedly praised Cobb’s growth, noting how the youngster has become a true leader in the locker room and a model of versatility on the field.
Behind the scenes, strength and conditioning coach Billy Slobin has helped Cobb add muscle and durability, while his mother, Tynesha Cobb, fuels him with three protein‑rich meals and two snacks each day to keep his energy high.
On the field he works with former Michigan star Devin Gardner and Belleville offensive coordinator Kevin Rogers, a coach who has molded several of the state’s top quarterbacks and sees Cobb as a potential all‑state talent.
Cobb’s personal goal is clear: he wants to capture the Mr. Football award and lead his team to a deep playoff run, a target that drives every practice and every rep.
