The honor, bestowed by the American Baseball Coaches Association, highlights the top defensive talents across Divisions I, II and III, underscoring Marin’s exceptional fielding skills and consistency.
Marin’s journey to the award began in Quebec, Canada, where he honed his abilities at Félix Leclerc High School before committing to NEO. At the college level he distinguished himself as a two‑way player, appearing on the mound, in the infield and outfield, and delivering a .429 batting average with 78 RBIs, 20 doubles and 13 home runs during his 2024‑2026 tenure.
His defensive reliability was reflected in a fielding percentage of .997, a figure that placed him among the most dependable players in the league. Beyond raw statistics, Marin emphasized the personal growth he experienced at NEO, citing the camaraderie, memories and friendships that shaped his collegiate experience.
