Elkhart’s Summer Basketball Skills Clinic Returns for Another Year

Coaches Travon Curry and Todd Johnson guide youth players through intensive skill development

A Two-Day Skills Development Event

The clinic, organized by LifeLine Youth Ministries, will take place at The Hub on 2721 Prairie Street in Elkhart. Sessions are set for July 13 and 14, with a dedicated time slot for younger participants and another for older students.

Children in grades three through five gather from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., while those in grades six through eight stay later, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., allowing each age group to work at an appropriate pace.

Under the guidance of coaches Travon Curry and Todd Johnson, participants will focus on core fundamentals such as ball handling, shooting mechanics, passing accuracy, rebounding technique, defensive positioning, footwork, and decision‑making on the court.

The program emphasizes practical gameplay concepts, encouraging youngsters to apply newly honed skills in realistic scenarios while receiving immediate feedback from the coaching staff.

Registration is open at a cost of $15 per player, though space is limited, prompting families to secure spots early to avoid disappointment.

Community Impact and Participation

Since its inception, the clinic has become a staple of the local youth sports calendar, drawing families from across Elkhart and surrounding neighborhoods. Organizers highlight the partnership with LifeLine Youth Ministries as a key factor in providing a safe, supportive environment for athletic growth.
