Ella Mullin, a junior midfielder for Mohonasen High School, announced her commitment to the University of Wisconsin’s women’s soccer program, ending a highly anticipated recruitment that had drawn interest from several Power Five schools.
The decision marks the culmination of a rapid rise that began when Mullin first broke into the varsity lineup as a seventh‑grader, a trajectory that has seen her amass 116 goals and 83 assists over her high school career.
Mullin cited the desire to compete at the highest collegiate level as the primary driver behind her choice, noting that Wisconsin’s blend of academic reputation and athletic tradition aligned perfectly with her goals.
Her club coach, Clint DeMyer of FC Stars, praised the player’s relentless work ethic, saying, “She trains like every day is a championship match, and that intensity is what sets her apart.”
Mullin’s younger sister, Maggie Mullin, has also made a name for herself, scoring 28 goals as an eighth‑grader last fall, underscoring a family culture centered on excellence on the field.
The commitment comes after a rigorous evaluation of programs including Michigan State, Purdue, Maryland and Florida, each of which offered compelling scholarship packages and campus environments.
While at Wisconsin, Mullin hopes to surpass her personal best of 27 assists in a single season, a target that reflects both her playmaking instincts and her ambition to leave a lasting imprint on the Badgers’ record books.
