A Milestone for the Program
Ella Zoerhoff, a sophomore forward for the University of Toledo, was named the Mid‑American Conference Offensive Player of the Week after a dominant two‑game stretch that produced four goals and multiple scoring chances for the Rockets.
Her most dramatic moment arrived in a 1‑0 victory over Detroit Mercy, where she curled a 20‑yard free‑kick into the net in the final seconds to clinch the win.
The following day, against Mercyhurst, Zoerhoff completed a first‑half hat trick, adding two penalty conversions to a long‑range equaliser that sparked a 6‑2 rout.
The six goals scored in that match represent the highest single‑game total for the Rockets since 2021, and her hat trick marked the first such burst in the first half for the program since 2011.
Through three contests she sits tied for second nationally in goals per game at 1.67 and is fifth in total goals with five, while also leading the MAC in scoring.
Head coach praised her composure and ability to create chances, noting that the team’s offensive rhythm has shifted dramatically in her presence.
