A historic double honor for Bryant baseball
Ellis Garcia, the Bulldogs’ third‑base stalwart, and right‑hander Aidan Vining have both been named to the Rawlings/ABCA All‑Northeast Region team, a distinction that underscores the program’s rising prominence in Division I baseball.
Garcia earned first‑team honors after delivering a .339 batting average, a 1.076 OPS, 11 home runs and 44 RBI over the course of the season. His selection marks the first time in Bryant history that a third baseman has been recognized on an all‑region squad, a milestone that places him alongside former star Kevin Brown, who earned the same accolade in 2013.
Vining, a reliever who appeared in 15 games and logged 43.1 innings, posted a 2.08 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP while allowing just one run or fewer in 12 of his outings. The sophomore’s consistency helped the Bulldogs secure weekend series, and his fourth consecutive Rawlings/ABCA All‑Region nod ties him with the program’s most decorated relievers.
Program legacy and future prospects
The two selections bring the total number of Bulldogs honored by the Rawlings/ABCA to 29 players for Garcia and 30 for Vining, cementing a lineage of excellence that began with Kevin Brown’s 2013 recognition. Both athletes will now look ahead to the next chapter of their careers, carrying with them the expectations set by a tradition of regional excellence.
