The Elsie Allen High School football program entered the 2025 season with a 9‑3 record, sharing first place in the NCL III and capturing the NCS 8‑person Division 2 championship. The victory marked a high point for a team that now prepares to defend its momentum in the 2026 North Central League II campaign.
A youthful roster poised for challenge
Head coach Josh Inong, in his third year at the helm, will guide a squad that blends 10 returning veterans with a wave of new faces. Key departures include quarterback Nicholas Vazquez Lobato, wide‑receiver/defensive back Uriel Gonzalez Pacheco, and several linemen, creating openings for players such as junior Matthew Dederscheck, who is slated to take the starting quarterback role.
Among the returning standouts are junior wide receiver/defensive back Alex Torres Sanchez, junior tight end/defensive lineman Octavio Infante Pineda, and senior linebacker Martin Albor. Additional contributors expected to expand their roles include junior running back Jesus Vasquez, junior tight end Daman Singh, and junior wide receiver Luis Ramos. Their experience should provide stability as the team adjusts to new offensive and defensive schemes.
A demanding schedule and high expectations
The Lobos will face a rugged North Central League II slate that includes traditional powerhouses such as Branson, Cornerstone Christian, and Woodside Priory. The schedule also features matchups against Tomales, Potter Valley, Calistoga, Roseland University Prep, California School for the Deaf‑Fremont, John Swett, and South Fork. Coach Inong has voiced confidence that the team can win games and surprise opponents, aiming to secure a playoff berth despite the youthful composition of the roster.
With a blend of seasoned returners and promising newcomers, Elsie Allen hopes to translate its early‑season success into a deep postseason run. The combination of Coach Josh Inong’s leadership, a solid core of veteran players, and the excitement of a new competitive landscape sets the stage for an ambitious 2026 campaign.
