Emily Ryan, a former Iowa State point guard whose name has become synonymous with excellence in the Cyclones' program, has been appointed as a full‑time assistant coach at her alma mater.
A Milestone Career
Ryan spent five seasons (2020 through 2025) donning the cardinal and gold, during which she rewrote the school record books with a blend of scoring, playmaking and defensive grit.
Her career culminated with a rare combination of 1,500 points, 900 assists and 600 rebounds, marking her as only the third woman in NCAA history to reach those milestones, and placing her in the top five of Iowa State’s all‑time leaders in steals and blocks.
Coach Fennelly’s Praise
Coach Bill Fennelly praised the move, highlighting Ryan’s deep understanding of the program and her unwavering loyalty to Iowa State women’s basketball.
In her new role, Ryan will bring a player’s perspective to the bench, guiding recruits with the same intensity that defined her on‑court performances and helping the Cyclones maintain their competitive edge in the Big 12.
