The Emporia State University women's soccer program has released its 2026 schedule, marking a significant milestone for the Lady Hornets.
The slate features ten home contests at the ESU Pitch, the most the team has hosted in a single season since 2010, underscoring the university's commitment to growing the program on its own turf.
Opening the season
The campaign kicks off on August 27 with a road test at Drury before the first home appearance arrives two days later against Maryville.
A four‑game home stretch begins on September 18 when the team opens MIAA play against Nebraska Kearney, followed by a brief road swing and a return to Emporia for three consecutive matches in October.
The final home game of the regular season is slated for October 29 against Rogers State, after which the team will travel to the MIAA tournament beginning November 1.
Coaching continuity
Head coach Jane Grimley‑Gunn enters her third year at the helm, having guided the program to a 9‑6‑5 record in 2025 and a conference tournament semifinal after an upset victory over #16 Washburn.
Her continued presence provides stability as the team blends experienced contributors with a promising recruiting class, aiming to translate schedule advantages into on‑field success.
