A Milestone for Louisiana Football
When the Knights of Episcopal High School step onto the emerald fields of Dublin next August, they will be doing more than just opening a new season — they will be writing a new chapter for Louisiana athletics.
The invitation, extended by Global Football, places the team at the forefront of the 2027 Global Ireland Football Tournament, a showcase that pits high school programs from across the Atlantic against one another in a celebration of sport and culture.
The Global Ireland Tournament
Scheduled for August 27, 2027, the match will take place just before the college football clash between Pitt and Wisconsin, creating a unique backdrop that blends high school ambition with university spectacle.
Competing against another American high school, the Knights will experience a style of play and atmosphere that few teams ever encounter, enriching their competitive perspective.
Voices from the Field
Coach Travis Bourgeois emphasized that the journey is about more than scores; it is about instilling a sense of global citizenship and pride in the players who will wear the Knights’ colors overseas.
The accompanying dance squad, drum corps and spirit group will amplify the cultural exchange, turning the trip into a vibrant showcase of Louisiana’s own artistic traditions.
For the state, the venture represents a historic first, a milestone that promises to inspire future generations of athletes to dream beyond the borders of their hometown fields.
