Siena Women's Basketball announced this week that Erica Covile will join the program as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2026‑27 season, bringing a blend of playing experience and coaching acumen that the program hopes will translate into continued growth on the court.
A New Era of Coaching
Covile spent three seasons at Central Connecticut State, where she helped the Blue Devils return to postseason competition and mentored three All‑Conference selections while also guiding two All‑Rookie Team members. Her work with both guard and post players, along with individualized skill development sessions, contributed to a culture of accountability and competitiveness.
At Siena, Covile will continue to develop guards and interior players, while also overseeing skill‑building drills that emphasize technical refinement and game intelligence. Her approach is expected to complement Head Coach Terry Primm’s vision for a more dynamic and defensively disciplined squad.

Head Coach Terry Primm lauded Covile’s enthusiasm and ability to forge strong relationships with student‑athletes, stating that her leadership will be a key factor as the team looks to build on recent successes.
Covile’s professional playing career spanned five years across Romania, Spain, Belgium, Australia and Finland, where she honed a competitive mindset that she now aims to instill in the next generation of Saints. Her collegiate tenure at Temple was equally impressive, earning Third Team American Athletic Conference honors and reaching the 2015 WNIT Final Four before concluding her career with 1,076 points and over 800 rebounds.
Beyond the court, Covile holds a bachelor’s degree in Adult & Organizational Development from Temple and previously served as Director of Women’s Basketball Operations at Yale during the 2022‑23 season, experience that underscores her administrative competence and holistic approach to program building.
