Erik Foor, the longtime baseball coach at Myers Park High School, announced his resignation after ten seasons that produced a 194‑45 record and ten consecutive state playoff berths.
During his tenure the Mustangs captured numerous conference tournament and regular‑season titles, and he helped develop nearly forty players who went on to compete at the collegiate level.
The program has been consistently strong, posting at least twenty wins in each of the past five seasons, including a 24‑6 record last year and an unbeaten run in Greater Charlotte play. The team also advanced to the N.C. 8A Western Regional championship series before falling to Providence.
A Legacy in the Making
Foor’s departure marks the end of an era, but the school is already turning its attention to the next leader who will inherit a program built on tradition and high expectations.
Community members and alumni alike are reflecting on the impact of his coaching philosophy, which emphasized discipline, teamwork and academic excellence, and they remain hopeful that the culture he established will continue to thrive.
