Former Auburn soccer defender Erin Houston has signed her first professional contract with Athletico de San Luis, a club competing in Mexico's premier women's division, Liga MX Femenil.
Houston expressed gratitude for her collegiate experience, noting that her four seasons at Auburn, where she appeared in 73 matches and recorded 32 clean sheets, equipped her for the rigors of professional play.
The defender will link up with fellow Auburn alum Becky Contreras, who already calls San Luis home, adding a familiar connection to the roster.
Her signing marks the ninth Auburn player to turn professional in the past two years, underscoring the program's growing pipeline to the elite women's game.
During her Auburn tenure, Houston contributed five assists and helped the team shut down opponents on 32 occasions, statistics that coaches say will translate well to the faster, more physical Mexican league.
