Errol Kerns III, a standout safety from Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, is set to arrive on the Indiana University campus this June for an official visit that could shape his collegiate future.
During his junior year he logged 90 tackles, three interceptions, five pass break‑ups, three forced fumbles and four tackles for loss, numbers that have drawn the attention of several Power 4 programs.
Official Visit Schedule
The three‑day trip, slated for June 19‑21, will give Kerns a chance to experience the Hoosiers’ facilities, meet coaches and get a feel for the campus environment.
Although he began his college recruitment committed to Miami (Ohio), the Indianapolis prospect has also received offers from Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Purdue, Illinois, Northwestern and Kentucky, making his decision a focal point for the Big Ten.
Athletic Profile and Impact
Beyond football, Kerns showcases speed that translates to the track, posting personal bests of 10.78 seconds in the 100‑meter dash and a 22‑foot‑10 long jump, while also returning 573 kickoff yards and 200 punt return yards as a junior.
His 4.44‑second 40‑yard dash underscores the burst that coaches highlight on film, positioning him as a potential special‑teams contributor as well as a defensive playmaker.
If the visit leads to a commitment, Kerns would join fellow Miami (Ohio) alumnus Khobie Martin, a running back who also flipped his pledge to Indiana, adding depth to the backfield.
