ESPN’s Restructuring Hits Key Talent
ESPN is poised to cut a wave of staff as part of a broader restructuring following its recent acquisition of the NFL Network.
Among those expected to depart is Karl Ravech, who has been the face of ESPN’s baseball coverage for more than three decades.
Ravech joined the network in 1993, anchored Baseball Tonight, served as the play‑by‑play voice for Sunday Night Baseball through 2025, and has been a staple of Little League World Series broadcasts since 2006.
The layoffs also ensnare NFL reporter Tom Pelissero, injury analyst Stephania Bell and analyst David Lloyd, while analyst Ryan Clark was the first to be let go earlier this week.
The moves are widely seen as targeting personnel tied to the NFL Network, which ESPN bought in January, with the league retaining a 10 percent stake in the channel.
