The move comes as Katie George and Peter Schrager, who had anchored the secondary booth in recent seasons, will not be retained, while veteran play‑by‑play announcer Dave Pasch is slated to take the microphone for that team, bringing his 24‑year tenure as the Arizona Cardinals radio voice to a national audience.

McGrath’s elevation is more than a positional change; it expands her portfolio to include studio hosting duties and deeper involvement in NFL coverage, with the possibility of contributing to the Super Bowl broadcast on Feb. 14, a milestone the network has dubbed its “Year of the Super Bowl.”
Laura Rutledge, executive producer of NFL Live, confirmed that McGrath will serve as the program’s top fill‑in option, underscoring the network’s confidence in her versatility across both live and studio platforms.
The restructuring is driven in part by ESPN’s newly secured international game package, which has introduced scheduling conflicts for the network’s existing college‑football crews and threatens to dissolve the second‑team booth composed of Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky and Louis Riddick.
If the schedule shifts, especially during Week 16 when ESPN may air doubleheaders, Peter Schrager could be called upon to step in as a sideline reporter, further illustrating the fluidity of the network’s talent pool.
