Ethan Scardina, a 25-year-old forward from South Surrey, British Columbia, has been signed by the Wichita Thunder for the 2026-27 ECHL season, marking a new chapter in his professional career.
His junior years with the Vernon Vipers, Cowichan Valley Capitals and Nanaimo Clippers in the British Columbia Hockey League were defined by a captaincy in his final season and a prolific output of 129 points (62 goals, 67 assists) across 153 games.
After junior, Scardina spent five seasons at Bowling Green State University, where he served as captain during his senior year and contributed 58 points (30 goals, 28 assists) in 143 games for the Falcons, demonstrating consistent offensive production and leadership.
His first professional stint came with Atlanta, where he appeared in 65 games and recorded nine points (3 goals, 6 assists) during his rookie season, a modest start that highlighted his potential for growth.
A Journey From Junior Leagues to the ECHL
Now, the Wichita Thunder have added the versatile forward to their roster, a move that reflects both his proven track record at the junior and collegiate levels and the club’s intent to bolster its depth ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
