A Season of Renewal
The Euclid Panthers are gearing up for the 2026 campaign after a modest 4‑6 finish in 2025, a season that nonetheless marked incremental progress in the program’s rebuild.
Competing in the GCC OHSAA Division I, Region 1, the team finished conference play at 3‑4, leaving the coaching staff with a clear roadmap for improvement.
Third‑year head coach Damion Creel, who previously posted a 6‑14 record, remains committed to shaping a more competitive unit, emphasizing discipline and development.
Home games continue to be played at Euclid Community Stadium, a venue that has witnessed the program’s most memorable moments, including a regional final run in 1993.
Among the returning starters, quarterback Dion Russell will anchor the offense as a senior, while wide receivers Colby Orr, Kei’Shjuan Telfair and Sincere Hamilton provide experienced depth.
The offensive line will see letterwinners Martell Mincy and Tristian Matthews returning, but the unit still requires refinement to open running lanes and protect the backfield.
Defensively, the front seven features holdovers such as Russell Smith and Damaron Brown, while sophomores Cardee’a Johnson and Jeff Smith have already begun to make their presence felt.
The coaching staff also counts on contributions from players like James Bradford, Semaj Ellison, Charles Johnson, Braelyn Lee, Praise Walkr, Tyvier Williams and Antonio Robinson, all of whom are expected to add depth across both sides of the ball.
The overarching goal for 2026 is simple: achieve a winning record and secure a playoff berth, building on the three conference victories that signaled progress last year.
If the Panthers can tighten the line, sustain health, and let the sophomore defenders continue their ascent, the season could mark a turning point for Euclid football.
